WHAT IS SOLAR PV?

Solar PV panels convert light into electricity.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOLAR PV AND SOLAR THERMAL.

Solar PV panels use daylight to generate electricity. Solar thermal panels use sunlight to heat your water.

WILL SOLAR PV ONLY WORK IN THE SUMMER?

No - solar PV works year round. It uses daylight to generate electricity. Naturally, on rainy days or shorter winter days, there is less daylight so the system will not produce a lot of power. Call to our office to see our fully functioning solar PV system. The inverter records all of the data regarding the electricity produced so you can see for yourself just how well the system works.

WILL SOLAR PV SAVE ME MONEY?

Yes, a well designed and correctly fitted solar PV system will save you money. Most of our clients have followed up with us expressing their surprise with how much output their PV system has produced and the significant reduction in the electricity bills.

IS IT EXPENSIVE TO INSTALL?

The cost of your installation depends entirely on the size of the system you wish to install and the quality of the materials used. We aim to provide a 5 star installation experience at the best possible value. We install solar pv panels that produce well in lower light conditions. The SEAI offers grants to homeowners for domestic solar PV installations, whilst farmers can avail of the TAMs grant for solar PV installations on farms. Call us to arrange a free site visit of your property followed by a free quotation.

ARE THERE GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR BOTH SOLAR PV AND EV CHARGERS?

Yes, subject to certain terms and conditions, the SEAI offers grants for both solar PV and EV charger installations.

Southern Solar Electrical is an SEAI and Safe Electric Registered Contractor
